A tiny bit of planning for your grad shots can yield great results. But most importantly - you're supposed to have fun!

SLEEP - Get plenty of sleep the night before your session to look your best!

CLOTHING - CAP & GOWN PORTRAITS - Guys normally wear a white shirt and tie for their Cap & Gown portraits. Most girls wear a tank top which is hidden by the gown (only the neck and a necklace is exposed) while a few may prefer a collared blouse.

CLOTHING - CASUAL PORTRAITS - For casual images, choose solid, muted and soft colors. Black and earth tones like tan, cream and brown work best. Avoid clothes with distracting colours, stripes, patterns and writing. Wear long sleeves whenever possible (short sleeves will make your arms appear larger than they actually are). Don't be afraid to accessorize (jewelry, scarf, hat).

EXTRA OUTFITS & PROPS - If you book a Contemporary or Town & Country session, you will be photographed in our studio as well as outdoors. Bring an extra outfit for your in-studio session and an extra outfit for your outdoor shots. Change is good! Props can also make a great image - bring hats, scarves, sunglasses, a musical instrument, sports uniform and equipment, anything that relates to you!

HAIR - Schedule your haircut at least a week prior to your session. This is important for guys as well, as a fresh cut may reveal pale skin. Don’t try a different style, you want to be yourself.

MAKE-UP - Keep your make-up looking natural, and bring it along in case you need to make any adjustments. Your daytime make-up works best. Keep in mind that blemishes can be softened or removed with image retouching.

SHAVING - A clean shave is important since a "five o'clock shadow" can be difficult, costly and sometimes impossible to retouch. If you have a beard or moustache, make sure it is neatly trimmed.

GLASSES - Glasses may create glare or distortion on your face, and tinted glasses will photograph slightly darker than they appear. Although we can correct some glare, your safest alternative is to visit your optometrist to borrow a set of frames similar to your own. In some cases they can even remove the lenses from your own glasses.

BRACES - Most of us have had them! They're just a part of you at this point in your life. We can photograph you in some serious expressions as well, so that you’re not always grinning from ear to ear.

RELAX AND HAVE FUN - It's a memory of your senior year! Bring a parent or friend with you for support, or just for laughs!

CAN I RESCHEDULE? - Yes! If you are ill, something comes up, you get a blemish, or if you are just having a bad hair day, reschedule! You won't feel good about your photos if you know your hair or skin is not cooperating. Also, our Contemporary and Town & Country sessions include outdoor shots - if we experience bad weather we will reschedule. Please call us as soon as possible to reschedule your session.

PAYMENT - Your fee is due on the day you come for your session. We accept cash and checks (made out to Ryan Richard Photography). Please be sure to add HST (13%).

DO YOU HAVE MY SCHOOL GOWN? We carry gowns for various high schools in the Fredericton area. Call our studio to verify that we carry your school's gown. We do not carry university or college gowns; please call our studio for information on where you can arranging to pick up a university or college gown for your grad session.

HOW LONG IS A SESSION? Our only goal is to take great shots, no matter how long it takes.

WHEN WILL I GET MY PROOFS? - You will normally have access to your ONLINE PROOFING ACCOUNT within 1-2 weeks. We will contact you with a username and password once your images have been colour-corrected and prepared. You will be able your ONLINE PROOFING ACCOUNT from any internet connection through our website. Share them with friends and family from all over the world! Let them help you pick out your best shots before you place your order!

HOW DO I ORDER PRINTS? - When you view your online proofs, each one of your images will have a unique image number. Make note of your favorite images and contact our studio with your order.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRINT PRICES? DO YOU OFFER PACKAGES? - Please contact our studio and we will email you a PDF version of our current Grad Print Prices. Our competitive prices are structured so that you may build your own customized package.
